Aerial
There's something special about seeing the world from above. At Fears Photography I love using aerial photography to capture views and angles that most people never get to see. That could include a business premises, an industrial site, a sweeping landscape, or a large group of people. Every location is different, and finding the right perspective is part of what I enjoy most. Sometimes it is about showing the scale of a project or highlighting details that are hidden from the ground. It could also simply be about creating an image that makes people stop and look twice. Whatever the subject, I aim to produce photographs that are both eye-catching and memorable.
Buildings
Buildings set within the landscape particularly catch my eye, and I love using light, shadows, and the surrounding environment to showcase their character. While the British weather doesn't always cooperate, when the conditions are right, there's nothing better than capturing a building at its very best. From historic churches across the UK and castles throughout Wales to contemporary offices, commercial spaces, landmarks and modern architecture, I enjoy photographing buildings of every style.
Charities
As part of my company’s social responsibility, I support our local community by providing photography for charities. My professional photography and content creation services help our local charities communicate their important messages to raise awareness and funds. I provide charity photographs for a wide range of charities including but not limited to Tŷ Hafan, Cancer Research Wales and Mindstep Foundation. Related blog: 5 Mountains in 55 Hours Story for National Walking Month
Commercial
No two commercial photography projects are the same, and that's exactly what I enjoy about them. One day I might be photographing manufacturing machinery, and the next a new business premises, a delicate Clogau necklace for Cancer Research Wales, protective workwear or a classic car or motorcycle. Whatever the subject, my approach remains the same. I focus on creating natural, well-crafted images that showcase quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Whether photographing a single product or an entire manufacturing process, my aim is to create images that are both visually engaging and true to the business behind them. Below is a selection of my commercial photography, demonstrating the variety of projects I've had the pleasure of working on.
Events
As an event photographer in South Wales I mainly photograph events in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea. My assignments include Awards, Exhibitions, Conferences and Corporate Events with clients that include the BBC, Institute of Directors Wales, South Wales Chamber of Commerce and Business Growth. People
Whether it's a professional headshot, a team photograph or a more relaxed environmental portrait, my aim is always the same. At Fears Photography I create natural, engaging images that reflect both the individual and the business they represent. I know that not everyone enjoys being in front of the camera (including myself), so I take the time to help people feel at ease. I offer guidance on posing, expression and what works best on the day. The result is a collection of professional portraits that feel genuine, approachable and confident. I photograph headshots and team photography at your workplace, on location or in my portable studio. This makes it easy to capture consistent, high quality images with minimal disruption to your working day. Scenic
There’s something special about exploring new places, discovering beautiful landscapes, and experiencing the world through travel. While it's often difficult to put the camera down and simply take in the view, I can never resist capturing those moments, especially from above! Landscape photography allows me to relive the places I've visited, the incredible sunsets I've witnessed, and the memories made along the way. From dramatic coastlines to peaceful countryside and unforgettable adventures abroad, every image tells the story of a place that inspired me.
Sports
I love sports photography. It could be taking photographs of a sports event such as the Golden Oldies Rugby or photographing a hospitality event with a sports celebrity. Photographing, meeting and listening to my sporting heroes is very special including celebrated sporting legends such as Joe Calzaghe (Boxing), Jonathan Davies (Rugby) and Paul Merson (Football). For sports photography, I work with some great sporting hospitality event organisers including The Events Room, Legends Hospitality and the Welsh Charitables RFC. Weddings
To be a Wedding Photographer, you have got to love photographing weddings. It is so very special. And it may sound strange, but being asked to be a couple’s wedding photographer is a real honour. As Double Take Photography, Jo Davies and I photograph weddings together in South Wales and South West England. As a male-female wedding photography team, we aim to take those photographs that tell the story of your wedding day. Our photographs are fun, emotional and a lasting memory of a wonderful day. Apart from the necessary formal photographs, we focus on capturing candid photos and engage with the whole wedding party to get relaxed group and couple photos. A more extensive selection of wedding photographs are on our Double Take Photography website.
